My Prayers at CHRISTmas!!

O Holy Night has always been my Grandpa's favorite CHRISTmas song. I remember being asked to sing it at a family CHRISTmas get together one year (by my Grandpa). After that I was asked to sing it almost every year. The hardest year to sing it was the last CHRISTmas get together at my grandparents home. Since his homegoing in 2007, I am always filled with such wonderful memories of him when I hear this song.
I pray that each time you hear the song O Holy Night you will remember the words of the song. Our Savior came on that Holy Night to save us from our sins!!
Joy To The World The Lord Is Come!! Let Earth Receive Her King!! Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room, & Heaven & Nature Sing!!
I pray that your heart will be singing wonderful songs of praise to our King this CHRISTmas!

It will always amaze me that the Creator of the earth, the Master of the Universe came to earth as a helpless child. That He chose to be born in the small town of Bethlehem. That He chose to sleep in a lowly manger where animals had been eating just minutes before His birth. That He did this for me so that I would be able to spend eternity with Him. That He came in this way in order to be the promised Messiah! WOW That just blows me away!!

I pray that you will remember the True meaning of CHRISTmas this year & every year.

May the Lord bless you beyond what your mind can comprehend this CHRISTmas as well as in 2010. May all of your prayers come true in the coming year in the Lord's timing. Remember His time is always perfect!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

My Crazy Dog Duke

Ok, so this may be really crazy to be writing a blog entry about my dog, but he is a hoot & a half!! We got him when he was 7 months old (above) & I knew that he was special from the start. He loves to have his picture taken (below).
Well sometimes he loves to have his picture taken (below)
:-)

But he loves to hang out with his Momma, lay by the door to protect us, or like today he loves to play out in the snow. Everytime I made a snowball he played catch like it was a regular ball. He was hilarious! Then he started to attack the buckets of snow & the snow shovels.

My dog Duke is one of the best dogs in the world & I am so glad that he is part of my family!!!

Christmas update

Merry CHRISTmas!!! I hope that this find you well, safe, warm & preparing to celebrate the wonderful CHRISTmas season. Since I am not able to send out CHRISTmas cards this year, I thought I would send out a CHRISTmas email with a Tilburt Family update. This year has been quite a hectic, strange, interesting, amazing, odd year. Let me try & break it down for each family member.

Daron - In January he had his first of two flares of the year. It effected the left side of his body (hand, arm, leg, foot). He recovered from that one just in time to have a flare up in April that effected his right side. That second flare has taken a lot out of him. But he has been pushing forward trying to not let him bother him. He is slowly realizing what he can & cannot do these days. But with these flares, a lot of blessings have happened. He has gotten a walker, an electric scooter, manual wheelchair & bathroom aids from the VA. We also had a group of amazing guys from our church as well as from his Dad's church come & build a ramp for Daron. We are still eternally grateful to them for this amazing gift!!! With the help of the VA we were able to purchase a brand new minivan - we are waiting to hear from a local company about installing a lift for his scooter. I am thankful to the Lord for all of this help that we have received & that Daron has been able to receive. Please continue to pray for him as he continues to strengthen himself as well as learn to live with what the MS has done this year.

Taylor - WOW! I cannot believe that he has started Kindergarten this year!! He is loving his class, making lots of friends & learning a lot. It has been amazing to sit down with him while he reads a book - it may not be a full book, but he is making wonderful progress. He has grown up a ton this year with all of the changes that our family has experienced. I have attached a copy of his Kindergarten picture so that you can see just how much he has grown. He will be 6 on the 16th & I still cannot believe how fast time has flown by.

As for me, I have just been going with the flow of life. I am still trying to get used to being a full-time caregiver, but I am grateful to the Lord for the strength that He gives me each & everyday. We have totally had our ups & downs this year. We have hit some major roadblocks & obstacles. We have fallen into the ditches of despair & depression at times. We have hit rock bottom. But we have made it through & are coming up the other side of all this. Even though Daron was laid of in April, put on medical leave in June & permanently laid off, not able to work since then; the Lord has provided for us & each of our needs. We will never be able to fully express our gratitude to our church family or to the Lord Himself. Even though we hit a lot of rough spots this year, the Lord has brought us through each one & He is giving us the strength that we need.

Well, I hope that you enjoyed reading about this year in our lives. I hope & pray that the Lord blesses you this CHRISTmas season & in the coming year. May He wrap His loving arms around you & bless you beyond comprehension.

My how time flies

Well here it is November 17 & my baby boy will be 6 on December 16th. I cannot believe how fast time has just flown by. He is loving school, making lots of friends there, maturing into a wonderful young man. I am so blessed to have this precious little boy in my life.

Daron's health is kind of getting better. The doctor says his strength is slowly returning, but his balance is still off some. We finally got our new van, his motorized scooter, manual wheelchair (all thanks to the VA). We are hoping that things will get better as time goes by. I am thankful that he is doing better & blessed to have him in my life.

I recently went to Georgia to see my baby brother Jon graduate from boot camp at Ft Benning. My entire family is so very proud of him & thankful that he is home safe.

In Full Swing

Well we have finished our second week of school Taylor is having a ton of fun, has made new friends & looks forward to going everyday. I am so thankful that he is so excited about school. I understand that this is only the start of the year, but I think that his excitement is going to stick around for awhile.

We are looking forward to the first field trip of the year. He gets to go to a local apple orchard & I get to go as well. I am really looking forward to being part of this experience with him. Hard to believe that my little boy has been in school for 2 weeks, but I am glad that he is enjoying himself. Now, if I could just find a way to enjoy the little bit of time that I have to myself --- wait, I never have time to myself. =)

School Has Begun

Well we have officially begun our second week of school. But I wanted to go back to September 8 & show you some pics of his first day of school. It all began at 7:30am when Taylor came running into our room & jumped on the bed. Then we all got dressed & ready to go. But before we left Taylor requested pancakes for breakfast. After breakfast we got socks & shoes on, grabbed the backpack & headed out the door into the world of Kindergarten!!When we got to the school, we saw a large red sign attached to the fence, so I had to have him stand next to it for a picture...or 2.The parents were able to go in the classroom for the first little bit while they made a craft. All of the kids were asked to sit on the big blue rug.....so Taylor chose to sit on........the letter T while his teacher Mrs. Breuninger introduced herself & talked with them. The kids got to make their own crowns to match the theme of the room KinderCastle.

Then he discoverd all the books in the classroom. So he had to grab a Star Wars book & look through it.

He had a wonderful first few days of school & we as a family have gotten into the swing of things - for the most part that is. I am glad that he doesn't have to be at school until Noon everyday. But he is glad that his best friend from school has his recess when we get there, so they get to play on the playground!!

Right Around the Corner

My little boy isn't so little anymore. He is gonna start kindergarten in 2 days (Tuesday 9/8). He has a quarter day - the older kids go a half day, but the kindergarten classes only go a quarter day. So he will be there from 10:15 - 11:30am. Then on Wednesday he will be there from Noon - to 3:30pm. I am excited & nervous about my son starting school. He is looking forward to being in the KinderKastle with Mrs. Breuninger. He is looking forward to meeting new friends & of course, playing on the playground. I will post pictures of his first day as soon as I get home on Tuesday!

Scavenger Hunt

We had such a great time at the school this morning. They had a scavenger hunt for all of the Kindergarten kids so they could see the school. The hunt took them to the music room, library, gym & the classrooms of course. It ended at the playground with popsicles. Now Taylor is really excited for the first day of school in 2 weeks.

Busy Times

Well we are finally getting to the busy times of life. Taylor starts school in two weeks (Sept 8), AWANA starts the next day (Sept 9) & I start my piano lessons. On top of all that, Daron aslo has his doctor appointments, physical therapy appointments & other misc appointments that I have to take him to. Then you add my babysitting to it all & I have one busy, busy life ahead of me.

I am really looking forward to it though. I actually enjoy being busy - to a point - so I don't feel like I am sitting around. I hope that I will be able to get everything on a normal routine so that I am not fully running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Please pray for us as we get started on this new chapter in our lives.

Proud Big Sister

Well I have to say first of all that I am a very proud big sister. My baby brother - Jon - just joined the National Guard. I am so proud of him & his decision to do this. But on top of that I found out that he leaves for Fort Benning in Georgia for boot camp on my birthday of all days. He isn't the only one. My Dad, who is also in the National Guard, leaves for Fort Sill in Oklahoma the same day. Jon will be back around Thanksgiving & my Dad will be back in October.

So although I am very very proud of my little brother, it is going to be a bittersweet birthday this year. Please be in prayer for my brother & my Dad as they leav for National Guard training.

He has to go to school when??

Well, I just found out today that Taylor will be at school Monday to Friday from 12:05 to 3:30pm. I am amazed that they are having Kindergarten everyday of the week. But I am glad that he will be starting school in a few weeks. He will have so much fun making new friends & learning things he already thought he knew. He is so looking forward to school starting.

Look how far he has come!!

With Taylor getting ready to start school for the first time on Sept 8, I wanted to take a trip down memory lane. Here are a few pictures just to give you a glimpse of my son through his 5 1/2 years on earth so far!

Taylor's First Christmas! Taylor 9 days old when we took him to his first family Christmas get together. I was so excited to show him off.

First Goofy Grin. He was always making silly faces at me when I got out the camera. This is just one of them.
First playmate - Chloe. They both loved to stand in the window & look at the world outside. Sadly, Chloe was stolen from our yard a month after this picture was taken.

First Hide & Seek - He loved to climb in his laundy basket & play.
First Mr. Potato Head picture - he got a Mr. Potato Head for his birthday & would always put the smile in his mouth, so I had to take a picture
"I get to look like my Uncle Jon!" smile (Jon got them matching shirts that say "I Do All My Own Stunts!" Little did we know that was perfect for Taylor!

Halloween 2006. Taylor went as Batman & our wonderful dog Dixie went as Batdog. We had to put her to sleep last July due to health issues. We miss her everyday.

My super boy!! He loves to dress up like Batman, Superman or Spiderman.
That is just a glimpse into the last 5 1/2 years of Taylor's life. With him starting school I am sure that I will be adding a lot more pictures in the future. Where does the time go??

I will try my best to keep this updated on a weekly basis (daily if possible). If there is ever anything that you want to know about, feel free to ask!!
